Our Wesleyan Distinctive's
We are a movement of God's Grace living into the Kingdom of God here and now. Here are just a few things you need to know.
- We believe in the Scriptural Authority of the Bible as the foundation for our beliefs and how we conduct our lives.
- We embrace the inheritance passed down by the saints of the church who came before us. Drawing upon their wisdom, teachings, and daily practices, we strive to mature into the likeness of Christ.
- At our Church, our belief in the unity of believers is unwavering. While we hold steadfast to our theological convictions, we remain mindful that the Kingdom of God transcends denominational boundaries. Our prayers encompass all churches that live under the banner of Christ.
- We are a people redeemed by God's gracious gift, not by our own efforts, but through our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience to God's will.
- We recognize God's grace as transformative and merciful. This means that God's love not only forgives our errors but also shapes us into Christ's image through the guiding work of the Holy Spirit.
- We are called to uphold our faith with gentleness and respect, as stated in 1 Peter 3:15-16: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience...." (NIV) We stand firm, demonstrating restraint and love even in the face of criticism.
- Our belief thrives through discipleship and accountability, manifested in structured learning, personal devotion, active engagement in church life, participation in sacraments, and demonstrating kindness and mercy to others.
- Our hearts overflow with gratitude for God's goodness, shaping our lives accordingly. An integral part of our faith involves caring for the surrounding community and sharing the Hope of Jesus through acts of service.
